I live about 25 miles from Amity Hall, PA. The building is actually an old Hotel that was closed down for whatever reason. I am still in the process of trying to find out why is was closed down. I have been there numerous times, and let me say that it is MOST DEFINITELY "haunted". I have had many expierences there. Not good ones, I might add. If anyone is more interested in this place, please feel free to contace me, Lily, at dethblossem@hotmail.com. I have much to share. (Addition to what Lily said before) Amity Hall is a small town in Perry County PA across the river from Pa. IF you want detailed directions please e-mail me... my address is below on the one posting. Actually, this is just a little something to go along with what the Author of this web-site said in the beginning. Not only is it of utmost disrespect to vandalize or destroy any of these places, but, in doing so the harm that you open yourself to is something that you should also think about. I know, because I have seen what disrespectful acts of Vandalism to abandoned places and cemeteries can do to people. It's call very bad Karma, and it does exist. Just because you may not be able to see or feel something, does NOT mean that it can not see or feel you, or that it is not there. I say these things out of concern for people. Not because I feel superior to anyone.

Ok first things first ..i have three things to explain in here ....first, Amity Hall is just a little down the road from my house and my stepfather used to work there so i know tons about it. Me and my friends all became ghost hunters basically because of this place and now we travel from place to place to search for "haunted" places. We go there when people have questions about it being haunted and everything. Amity hall IS haunted. There were murders there and suicides. It was a Hotel and in the attic you can still see blood stains. Conclusion: Project Amity Hall ....HAUNTED ...Second ...Everyone Is complaining about this "7 Gates of Hell" Noone believes its haunted or noone knows how to get there ...I know for fact that it IS also indeed haunted. Me and my friends have gone there and are planning on making another trip there real soon. If you need directions from your house to the 7 gates then please email me at Dizze022@aol.com ...Third there is another haunted place that seems to be getting itself known around where i live ...its called Shawl Manor...Its where a man killed himself and his children and now its a very big house haunted by his presence ...we have yet to find this place though, so we are still looking for the truth behind the hauntings ...if you have any questions please email me at the address above.... thanks

Ok I have posted a question in the past about amity hall, but do know the following. Here is the stories i have heard about amity hall. First, this is a small town located in Perry County Pennsylvania (Just Past Duncannon). It is a set of many residences and a old hotel and mental hospital. The story of the hotel is as follows:
The hotel was build in the 1800's and was a very popular establishment. One evening a man traveled to the hotel in search of his wife. When he got then he fould her on the third floor/Atic of the building. He then killed her, her lover, and two children. Still to this day a blood stain can be seen on the wall and ceiling from the children being killed. While attempting to leave a man killed a security officer who heard the shots. Finally when trying to flee the man himself was killed by police officers. To this day those spirits still haunt the hotel. And the wife of the man stands at the top of the stairs looking down, and has been known to hate/ and show this towards men who enter and travel through the hotel. The hotel is now boarded up, and has noi tresspassing signs all over it. Yet, these boards covering the hotel have a reglar occurance of being ripped off without any show of human involvement. Also on the second floor when the boards were not up, it has been said that you can see a light traveling through the building. Others have said that the building holds both good and bad energy. When a fully charged cam of ours was taken, the battery shut off after 5 mins. Also being then sent a cool almost numbing chill through our bodies, and was very frightful. When i know more about the site, and its history i will post again, also anyone knowing anything about this place please feel free to contact me at Kspitty90@aol.com. I would love to know more!!!

Although amity hall is a mysterious building and is quiet haunted, it is not advisable to go to either inside or just onto the property as the grounds keeper is a dick, he will have you arrested. 9 times out of 10 you will be stopped, searched and then arrested for going into that hotel. But, if you do still decide to go into it you must see the trophey room (its the one with all the broken glass) definitly a presence felt in there. and the upstairs master bedroom. where one of the owners killed his wife and children, then hung himself... if your looking for a great building i implore you to explore Penthurst Mental Institusion but beware of the state cops that sit at her mouth.

I have been to Amity Hall pass Ducannon. Its a run down hotel. The story goes. The owners of the house killed his childern in the attic. (There was never a lover involved) And his wife on the landing of the second floor. A group of my friends and I went down there a few years ago. And yes we had strange things happen. But alot of it has to do with the homeless people that have been living there..Since than the cops are more involved amd if you are caught on the property you will be fined and might have to spend a night in jail..

Amity Hall Inn was a quaint little inn with a dozen or so rooms for rent. It had a main building with a dining area and a gas station with a small store. It closed down after a highway was built that re-routed their traffic. The Inn is in poor condition due to people breaking in and destroying it. Nobody killed themselves there and no murders were committed there. I love a good ghost hunt but you won't find any in this place. Sorry.

Amity Hall is a old Hotel that is located just off routes 22/322 & 11/15 beside the Juniata River. It sits just off the far east end of old routes 22. It has been closed for several years Originaly built in the 1800's it was a very fine establishment that catered to the rich, travelers and the canal workers that ran beside the Juniata. I am unsure what year it was closed as when I was between 8-11 years old my aunt had her reception there. It has had many rumors of being haunted yet there has never been an official investigation that I am aware of. The rumors of paranormal activities range from children killed in the attic, a wife murdered on the 2nd floor, an explosion and a demonic presence that dislikes men.
I can assure that to the best of my knowledge there has never been a fatal explosion. I have been a member of the local fire department and there is nothing in our archives of such. The Sunday Patriot news ran an article several moths ago in regards to this establishment being "haunted". They stated in the article, quoting the current owner that there has never been any kind of fatalities in the hotel and that it is not haunted. The rumor of such has been spread like wild fire and prompts would be ghost hunters to break in and see. I can tell you that the place is closed up and boarded with numerous signs for no tresspassing. It is also heavily patroled by the State Police and the neighbors keep a watchful eye. Trying to get into the place is not a good idea as I have read on several occasions in the local paper bout persons that have been arrested for tresspassing.
I will say that the place is indeed extremely creepy during the daylight let alone at night. I have been inside onece when I was about 17 and the creep factor was about 10. There has definately been cult activity there in the past, the markings inside showed that. I have tried to get the members of TAPS to investigate the establishment but I can never get an answer. All that I have to say is good luck getting in and not getting busted. Hopefully someday a credited paranormal group can investigate and prove or dispell allegations of paranormal activity.

Amity Hall Inn was burnt to the ground this morning. I will miss the place. I've been inside and out and it was a grand structure.
