Yes there is a Sleepy Hollow; it is a town in New York that is close to the city. My grandparents are actually buried in the famous cemetery in the book. Washington Irving wrote many tales of the Hudson Valley area in New York. Also, there is a Sleepy Hollow in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Don’t get that confused with the one in New York. Sleepy Hollow, NY is the town depicted in the story.

Yes there is a Sleepy Hollow in southern New York state, you can even look up the chamber of commerce and the grave of Ichibod Crane is there as well. Many believe the story is true save the whole fighting for the girl thing. Yes many dont stray too far from the bridge on vertain nights either knowing that crossing means evil may not follow.
