Anyways, one day when I was about 4 or 5 years old, i was sitting in the living room, watching some cartoon on T.V. and I thought I saw somethinf go past the window outside that looked out at our backyard. When I turned to look, all I saw (or thought I saw) was something that looked kind of like someones hair, but it was completely white and i didn't see much of it. I started screaming and ran into the kitchen were my mom and Beth were. My dad was at work and this was after Heather had moved out. When I told them what happened, they didn't believe me. I'm not quite sure if I saw anything real or not. I was so young I could have very easily imagined it, but I don't think I did.
Another time, I can't remember how old I was, but I was downstairs watching T.V. (again) when my Beth and her friend Amy came running down the stairs screaming. My mom asked them what was wrong and they said that they had started up the attic steps when they heard whispering. I wasn't sure if I believed them or not, but it still freaked me out. To this day, Beth and Amy swear that they did hear whispering up there.
I probably should have mentioned before what happened before my parents, Beth, and Heather moved into that house (this was before I was born). They were going to look at the house with the realtor and my uncle Scott who says he's kind of psychic (not sure if I believe that) and he said that he felt a "presence" in that house, but he said that it was a good one. They couldn't move into the house for a few days, but my dad went to stay in the house by himself one night and he said that by the window in my parents bedroom he saw "a filmy looking white misty thing". I'm not sure if he was telling the truth or not since he was very good at making up stories, but at the time I believed him.
Another story that doesn't involve the farmhouse is one about my uncle Scott and his partner (I guess you'd say), Keith. Both of them are realtors and the new house they were moving into was still being built when they sold their old house. They didn't have anywhere to stay so they went to stay at this huge old mansion (this is in Georgia) that no one would buy because everyone said it was haunted. Keith didn't believe in ghosts then so of course he didn't care about all the rumors and my uncle has encountered many ghosts before so he wasn't the least bit afraid to stay there. The first night they stayed nothing really happened, but on the second night, at about 3 or 3:30 in the morning, when they were sleeping they woke up to a very loud banging sound upstairs. Their bedroom was downstairs and the noise sounded like it was right over their heads. they said the noise was a lot like the banging from the old movie, "The Haunting" and they were terrified. After the noise stopped, they went upstairs to see what had caused the banging, but they couldn't find anything. One day, they both had to go to work so they had to live their dog Brighton (cute little Yorki) alone in the mansion. When they got back, Brighton was hiding in their room, trembling and whenever they touched a certain spot on her head, she would yelp like she'd been hit there or something. At night, when They were in their bedroom, they would leave the door shut and Brighton would lay down and stare underneath the door like she was watching something move around outside. The next day, Keith was alone in the house and my uncle was at work when Keith saw water dripping from nowhere. He quickly went outside to wait for my uncle to get back. Nothing else happened during their stay at the mansion (which was only one or two days afterwards), but now, Keith believes in ghosts and my uncle is much more afraid of them than he was before.
I'm not sure if any of these stories are true or not since I really never experienced any (besides the times when I had nightmares), but I believe them and I thought I'd post them here and see what people think. Whether or not those stories are true, one good thing came out of them:my love for a good ghost story (true or not) and researching ghosts. I also have never doubted the existence of ghosts even though so many people tell me that they aren't real.
