He used to be in the army, and was stationed in a camp in Germany. He, and some friends of his were having drinks in the on-site bar, when one of his friends was taken ill suddenly, probrably from too much alcohol. They layed him down on a sofa that was there, as they did not want to move him.
The doors in the camp were very heavy, when they were closed, there was an emourmous bang, which could be heard all over the camp. My father and his friends closed the door to the bar and left the sick man to sleep off his ailment. Only one man had the key to the bar and he had locked it up. This was about 12 at night.
My father was one of the first people to wake up that morning. He decided to see how the sick man was. He went to the door of the bar, to find it locked. He went to get the key from the man who had locked up the bar the night before. When they opened up the bar door, they found the man on the sofa, dead.
But he was not how they had left him. There was a thick blanket covering him, and a pillow was propped under his head. He had been sick the night before, and it had now been mopped up. No one had been in the bar since 12 o'clock the night before.
I personally beleive that an angel visited the sick man in the early hours of the morning, and made him comfortable. My dad doesn't beleive in angels, but he kept the blanket that the man had been covered in, and is still glad that the man did not suffer in his last night.
